Discovered in 2012 in Antioch (modern day Turkey), this 3rd century B.C. mosaic captures a striking image from the ancient world - a reclining skeleton in leisure with bread, wine, and a cup in hand.
Accompanied by the inscription often translated as “Be cheerful, enjoy your life,” this mosaic is one of our favorites as it reminds us to slow down and enjoy the one life we have to live.
